Leah Umansky has been an educator for over fifteen years in New York City. She is the author of three books of poems, most recently OF TYRANT, forthcoming with The Word Works in 2024. She has taught writing workshops at such places as The Hudson Valley Writers Center, Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, Poetry School (UK) and Sarah Lawrence College, where she earned her MFA. She is currently working on a memoir, DELICATE MACHINE, an exploration of womanhood, hope, and heart in the face of grief and a global pandemic.Her creative work has been widely published in such places as The New York Times, POETRY Magazine, The Massachusetts Review, and The Academy of American Poets' Poem-A-Day.
